The Kids Ninja Charity Challenge is an obstacle course race event for kids in Loveland, Ohio which benefits the NEST Community Learning Center.

Our 3rd Kids Ninja Charity Challenge will be held on Saturday, April 25th from 9am-4pm at Symmes Township Park.  This fundraiser, benefiting NEST Community Learning Center, is a FUN obstacle course for boys and girls ages 5-14.  This is a team-building event meant to foster a spirit of collaboration in overcoming challenges together! Teams of two will navigate the course, relying on each other to successfully cross the finish line; no one can be left behind! Register as a team of two. You are welcome to register individually and we will help you find a teammate.  We want every child to be able to compete in Ninja.  If your child needs special accommodations (extra time, experienced helper, etc.) to compete, please email us at

This will be a community gathering with food, drink and entertainment vendors. Come out and join us for this fun-filled family event!

Kids will receive a goodie bag for participating!

Cost: 1st child – $25.00; each additional sibling – $20.00

Age groups:  Boys: 5-6; 7-8; 9-10; 11-14

                        Girls: 5-6; 7-8; 9-10; 11-14

                        Co-Ed: 5-6; 7-8; 9-10; 11-14

Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.’s)

1. What time will I race?

This year you are able to pick your race time. Your child will compete during that hour.  If you registered for 9am time slot (limited space for each time slot), your child will compete between 9-10am. The race times are:

          9:00    10:00   11:00    1:00      2:00        3:00

Participants are asked to arrive at Symmes Township Park at least 45 minutes prior to their race start time. It will take time to park, walk over and check-in. Once you get checked in, please check out the vendors if you have time.

 2.  Will the race still happen if it is raining?

The race will run regardless of the weather. However, in the case of extreme weather, the race may be canceled, postponed or rescheduled, especially if the obstacles become unsafe for participants.  Our rain date, if necessary, is Sunday, April 26th.  Please follow the NINJA Facebook page, Instagram or Twitter for up-to-date information on the event.

3.  What about pre-school age Ninjas who are too young to race?

Children’s Meeting House is creating a “Little Ninjas” area specifically for 2-4 year olds that are just the right size for pre-school age Ninjas.  This area is non-competitive and just for fun.  There is also NO FEE for the Little Ninjas area.  Parental supervision is required.

4.  Do you have a refund policy?

The race fee per participant is NON-refundable.  However, please remember that 100% of what is raised stays here locally to help NEST Community Learning Center.  NEST CLC provides healthy snacks, organized outdoor physical activities, homework help and targeted tutoring for many of the almost 800 low-income students in our “own backyard”.

5.  Can parents/family follow and watch kids on the course?

Absolutely! In fact, parents who would like to watch their kids up close can accompany them on the course for FREE – but may not give assistance or come in contact with the obstacles. For the safety of our participants, please follow all signage to be at a safe distance while following participants on the course.

6. When will we know who the winners are?

This year, we will be timing each obstacle and then adding the times together to get the participant’s overall time.  Since you are picking the time slot you would like to race, awards will be announced at the end of the day approximately 4:30pm. 

7.  What if I get hurt?

Our course is designed with safety as the number one priority. However, in the event an injury occurs, there will be a medical station onsite during the event.

8. How long will it take to finish the course?

This is hard to answer.  Finishing times depend on each team’s age, physical ability and ability to work well as a team. Most teams will finish within 30 minutes. As a reminder, no one on your team can be left behind at an obstacle.  You must stick together and help each other finish the course.

9. What should I bring to Kids Ninja Charity Challenge?

Please bring a reusable water bottle! There will be food and merchandise vendors on-site, so we recommend packing some cash, too!

10.  Is there a time limit?

There’s no time limit. We want all participants to finish the course in a time that is safe and comfortable for them.  Each participant will have up to 3 times to complete each obstacle.  If they do not complete the obstacle, they will scratch that obstacle and continue the course.

11. How hard is the course?

The NEST Kids Ninja Charity Challenge is, after all, a challenge. But it is also constructed to be safe for all ages and skill levels. You might find some obstacles challenging and others a piece of cake.

12.  What should I wear?

You can wear your race t-shirt if purchased or a shirt of your choice.  If your team would like to decorate a t-shirt to wear, please do. You will be running. You will be climbing. You will be crawling. So wear comfortable clothing that you can sweat in and don’t mind getting dirty.  Athletic clothes including running shoes are a must!

13.  Do spectators have to pay?

No, spectators attending the Kids Ninja Charity Challenge are welcome for FREE.  Please enjoy the competition, vendors and food trucks!

14.  What do I get when I run?

After crossing the finish line, the top-scoring 3 teams from each age group for each category (girls, boys, Co-Ed teams) will receive a medal.  All participants will receive a goodie bag.

  1. This year when registering, you can choose for your child to compete in a timed run or participate in an untimed fun run. Every child will receive a goodie bag for participating.  We will be giving awards to the top 3 in each age group and gender that have signed up for the competitive race.  Each team must complete each obstacle to be eligible for awards.
